The Texas Agricultural Cooperative Council (TACC) is a voluntary statewide industry association created by Texas co-ops themselves in 1934 to serve as a collective voice, catalyst and clearing house on all co-op activities in the state. Its home is in Round Rock, Texas.
Cooperatives: The Backbone of Rural Texas!
Rural co-ops are collaborative and member-owned organizations that are formed with the primary goal of improving the economic well-being of their members. Members jointly make decisions on various aspects of their operations, sharing knowledge and best practices. Cooperatives assist small-scale farmers to achieve economies of scale, bring electricity and telecommunications services to underserved areas, and provide reliable, consistent credit and financial services, and affordable insurance for a high-risk industry. The cooperative model fosters solidarity within rural communities and promotes sustainability, ultimately contributing to the resilience and prosperity of rural economies.
